The things which I think worked well for my front cover was that the layout is has wording worked around the model, tennis ball & models school badge & all waste space is used (over models forehead). This therefore makes you drawn to that she is sports student of the year. Also the background behind the student is blue & white which goes with the masthead colour scheme & is very simple making the model stand out. Also how the masthead is slanted making the masthead look like it has been printed onto the magazine by letter print making it look very important. Also the use of fonts of having the 'BCHS' in a clear font then parts 'scope' changed by having the first letter in bold, 'C,O & P' is italic & having 'O' underlined making the 'O & P' joined together. This causes the 'Scope' to stand out more to the audience & because scope usually means something interesting, draws the audience into that part of the masthead. Also the size of the masthead & the main cover line makes that the first part the audience reads, showing that theses are the most important aspects of the magazine. Also short & catchy cover lines like ‘The good, the bad & the embarrassing’ also draw the reader into the magazine. Also the decoration of the two corners i think worked well with the magazine making the magazine look a little different.
The things of which I don't think worked well for my front cover was the use of to many colours for the cover lines. I also think that in the masthead the 'BCHS' should be in a white & the 'Scope' should be in a blue making those words be in more contrast to the background making the masthead stand out more. Also the layout of the magazine is like a lifestyle magazine & is not your typical layout for your school magazine. This then could cause confusing making the audience think this magazine at first is a lifestyle magazine.
The things of which I think worked well for the contents page was the use of font for the contents subjects, being very clear & visible letting the audience know what the contents is. Also the layout of the contents page is very typical therefore lets the audience recognise that this is the contents page. Also the masthead is very big, clear & bold making the audience straight away drawn to the masthead. The first three images I think worked well for the contents page because they draw the reader in & can be easily recognised to which article they belong to.
The things of which I don't think worked well for the contents page is that the images shouldn't be stretched; the colour of the border & title can strain the eyes making too much of an impact. The colours of the contents wording I think should be swapped round making the heading stand out more to the detail. Also the numbers on the images should also have more of a contrasting colour. Also the last image at bottom of column is not as clear as to which article it belongs to.
What I found the easiest was the front cover even though whilst I was making it I had to think very carefully how I was going to present it. The thing I found most difficult was making the contents page because of having to figure out the wording for the contents page, making the wording stand out & also trying to make a contents page layout. Therefore I have also now seen a lot more things wrong with my contents page.
